IWAS, WS Agree on Sanction
Jan Bockweg on behalf of IWAS, as the international governing body for wheelchair, amputee and les autres track and field events, stated that he was pleased that the World Series is now included in the IWAS sanction system.
A long term target for World Series Organisers, Scot Hollonbeck and Peter Eriksson, has been to further develop their initiative and they feel IWAS support is integral to achieving their goal.
Together, IWAS and the World Series will be reaching out to wheelchair racers, coaches and event directors providing opportunity and recognition of achievement on a global basis. IWAS sanction will enable the ratification of world records and ensure official ranking listing.
Both IWAS and the World Series Organisers see opportunity for further cooperation and development of the sport.
