World Series Rules and Purse


Rules


Rules
1. Each athlete’s performance is scored against a 1000 point scale.  (1000 =  world record (WR) or course record (CR) in that event)
a. Any new course or IWAS world record will immediately score 1000 points and all other performances will score from the new record.
b. New road races must meet minimum track standards in that class and distance.  Example: 5K road course record must equal the IWAS T54  5K record of 10:01.47
2. Final points will be tabulated from athlete’s top 10 performances, out of the 17 competitions on the Series schedule.  (Currently: 5 road events and 12 track events.)
3. By wearing World Series-provided stickers athlete’s results are scored.
a. A visible sticker must be on: 1) the front of the headset, 2) the side of the frame main tube, and 3) the front of the helmet.
b. No visible stickers - no score.
4. Athletes may compete in any of the distances offered at track meets.
a. Athletes may score in both distances listed at all track meets.
5. To be eligible for prize money, athletes must attend the World Series Awards ceremony held in Atlanta, Georgia, on July 4, 2007
